Elan Lowther XC Race - 14th April 2019
Time & Location
About the Event
Elan Events will once again be hosting the Elan Lowther XC after an extremely successful event in 2018. The event is a great way to kick off your season and will offer a demanding 5km course with plenty of elevation change to test all riders. The event is open to both serious and casual riders and has an extremely friendly atmosphere. They are hoping to be able to offer a series of 4 events over the year with points for overall awards at the end of the year, but this is TBC. Elan Events are also hoping to use a variety of different trails and locations throughout the year to offer racers a wide range of terrain at each event.
This year they'll be using an all new course to last years event with new additions based on rider feedback from the last event. Expect naturally technical terrain, sweeping descents and punishing climbs on this course with a mainly natural feel with the occasional feature thrown in. The course will be designed for riders of differing ability and any technical features will have an alternative line to them. This event is on private land that cannot be ridden at any other time so make sure you don't miss the opportunity to come race here.
For 2019, there will be a brand new and more demanding route for 2019 which will vary across the four races.
The event will have cafe facilities nearby at Lowther Castle and we are hoping to offer on site catering and facilities too for this event. There will also be toilet facilities in the cafe.
Come and try XC racing in the Lake District and enjoy racing at this popular venue in the Lowther Estate.
