Ridley 2020 Mud launch Visit May 09/05/2019

Once again, I found myself making the trip to Beringen, Belgium to visit the Ridley Factory, this time for the 2020 Mud Launch. This includes the all new X-Night and X-Night SL, Kanzo and new Ignite SLX MTB.

2020 Ridley X-Night SL

Still the same aggressive horizontal top tube, but now with full hidden cable routing through handle bar and stem thanks to the Ridley F steerer, the same used on the Noah Fast and Aero+. Wider BB area and removal of the seat stay bridge for better mud clearing. This is the lightest frame in cyclocross at 850grams for a size 50CC. To compare the current Helium SLX is 750grams and this is one of the lightest climbing road bikes on the market. Prices from £3640.

2020 Ridley X-night

Again the same geometry Ridley is famous for along with new fully internal cable and brake hose routing from shifter to brake calliper and derailleur. 1000g for the frame, which is 120g lighter than previous model.

Both cross bikes available in pure line, to match your personality or club/team colours.

Gravel, no longer All-road… GRAVEL!

Ridley was into gravel before it was popular, they launched the first generation Ridley X-trails and called the bikes All-Road. This has now grown to be called Gravel.

The new Ridley Kanzo, the Kanzo Speed and Kanzo Alloy are the current X-trail Carbon and X-trail Alloy. Kanzo C is new along with the Kanzo Electric, which we have already sold 3 straight away.

Kanzo or canzo is a word that dates back to the troubadours. Which were singers and poets back in the middle ages, working as tradesmen fishermen etc. They travelled a lot and experience all kind of adventures. They then sang and told stories to the people they met. Ridley encourage riders to be just like troubadours, to discover new places or just go for an adventure.

Kanzo Speed

This is the most flexible frame in the Ridley range and the one I own myself. Road, gavel or cyclo-cross, this bike can do it all by sampling swapping tyres.

Mudguards mounts make it the perfect winter machine cable of averaging in excess of 20mph on local roads or Riding up on Askham fell down to Howtown, find me another bike you can do this on?

Clearance for up to 36mm tyres.

Kanzo C

This is the new bike, with up-to-date clearance, which can take 650b x 50mm or

700c x 47mm. There is also extra bottle cage mount on the forks, top tube and down tube ready for an adventure. There are also rear pannier rack mounts on the bike. Planning a bike-packing trip?

Kanzo E

This bike uses a Fazua system, which is extremely light with a 250wh battery and crank drive. Come in the shop, as the bike is here to view in person.

Custom Colour Inspiration

Small selection of bikes customer's have designed to their liking, which have then been hand painted here at the factory in either gloss or matt finish.

Noah Fast Disc Test

The Ridley Noah fast, designed and tested in Belgium. The slow speed wind tunnel with controlled environment in Flanders Bike Valley next to the Ridley factory was used to design a bike with the very best of Aerodynamic Technology.

Big thanks to Ridley once again for allowing a visit to their factory.
